What do you think?Īny help will be greatly appreciated, and thank you all for your input into this site. Lincoln wants to change out the differential fluid. Anyone know what to watch out for in doing this service? I have read somewhere in here that in doing so, be careful to not develop an airlock in the system. Also, book says to change 'Premium Gold' coolant.

Spark plugs, coil overs, Brake fluid c/o, etc. Most of the rest of the items on the list I can do myself. I could do the oil change, and filter, but will probably leave that to a local xmission shop that I trust. Hell, for the eight items they quoted that are in the owners manual for service, they ran up a bill for over $1,700. Lincoln wants $430 for the oil change and filter, plus a 'flush', whatever that means. Transmission service, including filter change, is recommended at 100k. I would like to keep this car until the wheels fall off, or the DMV takes my drivers license away, whichever comes first. I am in the process of going through all the maintenance items listed in the owners manual, plus talking to the local Lincoln dealer, for my car, which is approaching 100k. That is a Diesel site, and I was wondering if that filter, built by Perma-cool is for a diesel standard transmission, or is it for an automatic? I don't want to take something like this for granted. Saw the tech on installing an external transmission filter kit on a 2003 T/C.
